Listening Among the Fringes

“Perhaps the most important thing we ever give to each other is our attention…. especially if it’s given from the heart.”

Kay Lindahl

I frequent a breakfast for the living with homelessness and social isolation where I just offer a listening presence.

Reflect and Connect is a weekly time and space for meditation and contemplative dialogue for City workers, residents, visitors, shoppers and those passing through. Come join in Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm in the Peace Chapel at Pitt Street Uniting Church. (Due to COVID-19 currently on-line.) People are welcome to drop in when it suits them or to come regularly.

I am a City Leader for Sidewalk Talk. Sidewalk Talk promotes a sense of belonging and develops human connection through listening in public spaces.

I am keen to explore creative options and partnerships with others such that the gifts of hospitaltiy, listening presence and deep connection can be offered and received among the fringes.

Please contact me if you would like to explore participating in any of these forms of accompaniment.

May you discern
where to extend a welcome
and where to receive one.
